What's New

New Features

We have been very busy. What started as an place to come and share  military base information has turned out to include much more then  that. Which in turn has made this a a rather large project for me and  will hopefully become a great resource for all of you.

Each time I  think that maybe I am getting close to the end of my project I decide  to add something new or someone comes to me with a good idea so I add a  little something more. So what is new you ask???

• Support Forum: We have added a support forum. It is not meant to take anyone away from  support forums out there but to give Military Life users out there a  place to come to relax.


• Chat Room: Again an added place to come and chat.


• Newsletter:  This was always the plan, but you will receive one of these once a  month with all the great happenings we have going on.


• And a couple  things you won't notice, but we have updated a lot of the software used  to run the site in the hopes the site will run a little smoother. There  are still some glitches that will be fixed soon, hopefully (LOL).     

Forum Grand Opening

Our support forum officially opens tomorrow night, September 1st. We will kick it off with a chat in the chatroom for anyone who wants to join. There will be lots of games and fun things to get the conversations flowing. Hope you will join us there!

Members of the Month

Eventually we will have member of the month her but since we are new and haven't had the chance to get to know each other yet I would like to send out a couple of special thank yous.

First to my husband for being semi patient as I built this web page which included hours in my computer chair and lots of yelling at my computer.

Second to those who helped with the initial articles for the main page and their continued support in this website, Jeni and Megan!

To Kaitie for always being there when I needed to talk, ask question, complain or what ever else I needed. This also goes out to Austin who put up with us always on the phone.

To Chris who truly understood my frustrations and helped me through them.

And to the ladies at The Silent Ranks, whom with out I would have never come up with the idea. Also for all the help you have given me with 

Staff Needed

Hopefully over the next month I will be inviting some people to help  out with the site. Unfortunately this will be completely volunteer but  it is for a good cause. If you are interested in be a part of the  growing Military Life website you can e-mail me at webwifey@amilitarylife.com.

Rating Contest

For each military base you rate  in August and September your name will be entered into a drawing for a  $20 gift certificate to amazon.com.       

Winners will be announced September 30th.       

Invites Contest

Unfortunately we had to cancel this one, the new version of the software isn't able to keep track of invites. If it becomes available I will run this  another month. At the time of closing it there weren't any i! nvites t hat  had been accepted.

Reminders

OPSEC

Since this is a site for shareing information with outher military spouses and s/o's it is important that we are very aware of OPSEC(Operations Security, or OPSEC, is keeping potential adversaries from  discovering our critical information). Please read our article on OPSEC here and be aware of what you can and can not post!
